Back in February I took this photo of some alliums that were coming up in the herb garden.
I had not remembered planting them, but nevertheless, there they were!
| Last weekend, I decided they needed to be separated so they could grow bigger. |
Look at the mess I was in for! There are 11 bulb-lets and lots of hair.
Hey wait, I've seen lots of hair before... |
| Lotsa auburn hair... |
| Lotsa blonde hair... |
| Lotsa always messy and slightly graying hair... |
| Even lotsa hair on the "Baby Grand"! |
Well, needless to say, I know what to do with lotsa hair. I know how to comb dreadlocks out of little girl's hair when they say they have combed it and yet they've missed the base of the neck for two weeks!
| So after I soaked the roots clean in a bucket of water, I just got a pencil and started "combing". |
With most of the roots still intact, they transplanted perfectly.
As I was working with them I figured out by the smell that I have garlic. |
| I wasn't the only busy bee this weekend! |
What experiments have you tried in your garden?
