She was in one of her usual spots in front of the office door, waiting for "her boy" Seth, to complete some Chemistry classwork. Earlier that morning she bounded energetically over to get her ball so we could play.
We held a memorial for her after her burial which was beneath an apple tree in our front yard.
We recalled some of our favorite antics from her life:
How she would bark incessantly at the birds on the phone line and jump straight up toward them like she thought she could reach!
That she loved to eat apples and would gather them from beneath the apple tree herself.
When she was a puppy she was so adorable.
Her favorite chew toy was a rock!
We loved having the experience of watching her give birth to 7 puppies and raising them here on the Farrm.
The way she would bound across the creek and dig in the mole hills, shove her head all the way in and inhale the dirt loudly!
We will all miss her loyal companionship.
Her greatest goal in life was to learn how to fly like the barn swallows she loved to chase out in the pasture - well now she is flying...
"All dogs go to heaven!"
